MAIN CHURCH
Classified as a National Monument in 1922

The Main Church, dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Assunção, is the most emblematic monument of the municipality.

Its heritage, archaeological, artistic, and religious value has made it a focal point of attraction for visitors and a source of admiration and pride for the people of Pedrógão.

References to the temple date back to 1295, when it was annexed to the Chapter of the Coimbra Cathedral by Bishop D. Emérico.

PILLORY
Classified as a Monument of Public Interest in 1933

The Pillory, erected in the forecourt of the Main Church, is believed to have been built in the 16th century based on its typology and heraldry.

It is a symbolic marker of local history associated with the founding of the municipality in 1513.
