Rodrigues Reservoir
Booking
The Rodrigues Reservoir is a small water reservoir located in the Ribeira de Pera, also receiving water from the Ribeira de Frades.
This construction was necessary to regulate and maintain the water flow in order to ensure the operation of a small mini-hydropower plant installed downstream from this reservoir, which allowed the village of Pedrógão Grande to be one of the first Portuguese villages to have electricity.
The surroundings of this reservoir stand out for the beauty of the landscape and the opportunity to enjoy the sounds of nature, observe local fauna and flora.
This reservoir is associated with the pedestrian trail (PR 4 PGR) called Trilho do Açude do Rodrigues, which starts near the Ponte de Pera, about 100 meters from the EM 350.
